Best Ever Financial Results in 2022 – 82 Per Cent Growth in Profit from a Four Per Cent Volume Increase

In 2022, Bentley delivered a record breaking 15,174 cars. This represents a four per cent growth in volume, while turnover reached €3.38 billion, up 19 per cent over the same period. These results are attributable to a significant shift in customer purchasing patterns.

Bentley Motors today revealed record financial results for 2022, with operating profits up nearly €1 billion compared to 2018. The number of cars sold was 15,174, marking a four per cent growth in volume from 2021, and turnover reached €3.38 billion, up 19 per cent. Profits soared to €708 million, representing an astonishing 82 per cent increase from that four per cent growth in volume.
A strong product portfolio, shifts in personalisation revenues, a ‘value-over-volume’ strategy and realisation of recent restructuring successes have driven 2022’s stellar performance.
The increase can be attributed to customers choosing higher specification derivatives, higher option uptake and the sale of Limited Edition and Coachbuilt collectibles. Return on sales climbed to 20.9 per cent in 2022, an impressive rise from 13.7 per cent in 2021 and the highest in Bentley’s 104-year history.
The favourable profit-and-demand outlook provides a self-funding basis for the soon-to-be-implemented Beyond100 strategy: €3 billion investment in the Crewe factory and five new BEV launches in five years, beginning in 2026.
