The Most Sustainable Bentayga: the Bentayga Odyssean Edition
The new limited Bentayga Odyssean Edition is equipped with a hybrid powertrain and features Bentley's future-oriented design and materials. In addition, the new 18 kWh battery, which will also be deployed in other Bentayga Hybrid models, enables an electricity-only range of more than 45 km WLTP. (Introduction to the Japanese market has yet to be decided.)
November 2, 2022
Bentley is releasing the Bentayga Odyssean Edition, continuing a legacy of extraordinary sustainable design, without compromise to Bentley’s renowned character or craftsmanship. This new limited edition is focused on sustainability, with production confined to a 12-month period.
The first Odyssean Edition was launched in 2021 as part of the Flying Spur family, and took its design cues from the EXP 100 GT concept car, which embodies the Beyond100 strategy. The new Bentayga Odyssean Edition also enjoys the benefits provided by a Hybrid powertrain.
Together, the Bentayga Hybrid’s V6 petrol engine, electric motor and new and improved 18.0 kWh battery deliver the calm of near-silent, zero emission EV mode with an electric-only range improved to at least 45 km on the WLTP cycle.
EV Drive mode is engaged as soon as the car is switched on, and maximises the electric driving experience. The E Motor continues to function at speeds of up to 135km/h. Moreover, the Hybrid Mode maximises vehicle efficiency and range using data from the intelligent navigation system. This mode is suited for longer journeys and uses predictive E-Mode and engine coasting whilst following directions from the navigation system.
The car will automatically engage the correct Drive Mode for each segment of the journey, regularly calculating the most efficient use of battery charge and electrical energy storage for stretches where they are most needed. The Bentayga Odyssean Edition goes on sale in November, ahead of the start of production in Q1 2023. (This limited edition’s introduction to Japan has yet to be decided.)
